Why Hikmet Tuğsuz left Survivor All Star in 2025
Turkish outlets reported on 4 March 2025 that a court order dated 10 February 2025 had been issued against Hikmet Tuğsuz, tied to two new Antalya indictments. He exited Survivor 2025 All Star at the point the production would have returned him to Turkey. He denies the fraud allegation, and no conviction has been reported.
Charged, unresolved Both Antalya matters are indictment allegations. No plea, verdict, acquittal or dismissal has been reported on either, and no primary Turkish court document was obtained for any part of this record.
What the record shows
- Charged, unresolved The Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is reported to have filed two indictments against Tuğsuz. Both are at indictment stage in the Antalya courts. No plea, hearing outcome, verdict, acquittal or dismissal has been reported on either, and no court has reached a conclusion on either allegation.
- Charged, unresolved The first indictment alleges that a villa in Antalya belonging to a complainant the press identifies only as Julia Ç., valued in the reporting at 45 million lira, was sold in April 2024 using a notarised power of attorney. Prosecutors are reported to be seeking seven and a half years. No court has ruled on it.
- Charged, unresolved The second indictment alleges intentional injury with a weapon, in connection with a man identified in the press only as Bayram D. who is said to have been struck with a stick on 20 July 2023. No court has ruled on it.
- Confirmed Cumhuriyet reported on 4 March 2025 that a measure dated 10 February 2025 had been issued, using the words tutuklama kararı, a detention order. In a statement reported by T24 on 5 June 2025, Tuğsuz used a different term for what he was facing, yakalama kararı, an apprehension order or arrest warrant, arising from a new court file.
- Disputed Tuğsuz denied that he had been convicted of fraud, while acknowledging in the same account that an apprehension order had been issued against him from a new court file.
- Confirmed He left Survivor 2025 All Star, which was filming outside Turkey, at the point at which the production would have returned him to the country. Sözcü reported on 16 August 2025 that he was in Thailand.
- Unverified Turkish outlets report a prison sentence they describe as kesinleşmiş, finalised, for two intentional-injury offences said to have been committed on 27 June 2016, carried as the figure 12 yıl 16 ay and recorded as running from 31 July 2023, followed by denetimli serbestlik, supervised release. No judgment, case number, appellate order or execution record has been obtained, and the reported figure has never been reconciled against a court document.
- Unverified No primary document has been located for any part of this record: no indictment text, no order of 10 February 2025, no hearing date and no disposition. Searches of Turkish court indexes and of Antalya prosecutor listings under his full name returned nothing.
What was reported on 10 February 2025
On 4 March 2025 Turkish outlets reported that a court order dated 10 February 2025 had been issued against Hikmet Tuğsuz while he was outside Turkey competing on Survivor 2025 All Star. Cumhuriyet, whose news desk credited the case account to Sabah, described the measure as a tutuklama kararı, a detention order. CNN Türk ran the story the same day, and Bursa Gazete followed on 5 March.
Three months later Tuğsuz spoke about it himself. In remarks reported by T24 on 5 June 2025 he denied having been convicted of fraud and said that a yakalama kararı, an apprehension order or arrest warrant, had come out of a new court file. Those two Turkish terms are not synonyms and this page does not merge them. No primary order has been retrieved, so which one was actually issued on 10 February is not established here.
The two Antalya indictments are accusations, not findings
The Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is reported to have brought two separate files. The first alleges that a villa in Antalya belonging to a complainant the press names only as Julia Ç., valued in the reporting at 45 million lira, was sold in April 2024 by means of a notarised power of attorney; prosecutors are reported to be seeking seven and a half years. The second alleges intentional injury with a weapon, tied to a man identified only as Bayram D. who is said to have been struck with a stick on 20 July 2023.
An indictment is what a prosecutor alleges at the start of a case. Both of these sit at exactly that stage. Nothing located reports a plea, a hearing outcome, a verdict, an acquittal or a dismissal on either file, so no court has decided whether either allegation is true. Tuğsuz has publicly denied the fraud allegation. Nothing on this page should be read as a finding that he committed either offence.
The earlier sentence Turkish media describe as finalised
Separately from the Antalya files, Turkish outlets report a prison sentence they call kesinleşmiş, finalised, arising from two intentional-injury offences said to have taken place on 27 June 2016. The figure carried in that reporting is unusual: 12 yıl 16 ay, twelve years and sixteen months. It appears in that form across the outlets and it is left in that form here, because no court document has been found that would reconcile it into a normal term. The same reporting records the sentence as running from 31 July 2023 and says he was later on denetimli serbestlik, supervised release.
That is what the press describes, and it is where the description stops. No judgment, case number, appellate order or execution record was obtained. Searches of Turkish court indexes and of the Antalya prosecutor's public listings under his full name returned no primary file. This page reports what Turkish media report about the older case; it does not report a document it has seen.
Why he left the show, and what is not established
He was competing on Survivor 2025 All Star, filmed abroad for the Turkish market, when the reporting broke. He exited the competition at the point at which staying in it would have meant travelling back to Turkey with the production. Sözcü reported on 16 August 2025 that he was in Thailand.
Two words that circulate with this story do not belong to it. He has not been reported as arrested, and no source establishes the legal status of fugitive. Nor is there a reported conviction on either Antalya file. What the record supports is narrower than the headlines: an order exists, it has not been executed in any account located, and both new prosecutions are unresolved.
This is Survivor Türkiye, not the CBS series
Tuğsuz competed on the Turkish edition of the format, which is produced separately from the American show and shares no cast with it. English-language summaries sometimes file All Star news under the CBS series. There is no US network statement, no CBS finding and no US proceeding anywhere in this matter, and he has no player page on this site because he has never played the American version.
The complainants are initialled in the Turkish press and are not identified here. No one else named in the reporting is treated on this page as a participant in any offence.
Questions people ask
- Why did Hikmet Tuğsuz leave Survivor All Star?
- Turkish outlets reported that a court order dated 10 February 2025 had been issued against him while he was abroad filming. He left the competition at the point at which continuing would have meant returning to Turkey with the production.
- Has Hikmet Tuğsuz been convicted of fraud?
- No conviction has been reported. Antalya prosecutors are reported to have filed an indictment over an alleged villa sale in April 2024, and an indictment is an accusation. He has publicly denied the allegation, and no plea, verdict or dismissal has been located.
- What is the 12 yıl 16 ay sentence?
- Turkish outlets describe a finalised sentence of twelve years and sixteen months for two intentional-injury offences said to have occurred on 27 June 2016, recorded as running from 31 July 2023. The odd figure is quoted as reported because no court document reconciling it has been obtained.
- Is yakalama kararı the same as tutuklama kararı?
- No. A yakalama kararı is an apprehension order or arrest warrant; a tutuklama kararı is a detention order. Cumhuriyet used the second term for the 10 February 2025 measure and Tuğsuz used the first when he spoke about it in June. No primary order has been retrieved to settle which was issued.
- Is Hikmet Tuğsuz in prison?
- Not established. No arrest has been reported in any account located, and the most recent reporting checked here, from August 2025, placed him outside Turkey. No custody record, hearing date or current execution status was obtained.
- Was he on the American Survivor?
- No. He competed on Survivor Türkiye, including the 2025 All Star season. That production is separate from the CBS series, and no US network or production statement exists in this case.
